The Schanzer Herbstfest in Ingolstadt is a traditional folk festival that has been celebrated since 1946. Every year, the 40,000 m² fairground on Dreizehnerstraße is transformed into a lively festival site that provides ten days of excitement.
Parade and tapping: The festival begins with a colorful parade through the historic old town of Ingolstadt, which ceremoniously opens the festivities. The highlight of the first day is the traditional beer tapping by the Lord Mayor, who warmly welcomes the guests.
Beer tents and live music: In the cozy beer tents, well-known show bands provide an exuberant atmosphere and musical entertainment every day. Here, visitors can enjoy a cool beer in a convivial atmosphere and dance to rousing music.
Rides and stalls: A wide range of rides will delight young and old alike. In addition to exciting carousels and Ferris wheels, there are numerous throwing, shooting and lottery booths that promise exciting prizes. Culinary delights are on offer at the numerous food stalls and confectionery vendors.
Themed fireworks: A special highlight of the festival is the breathtaking themed fireworks display “Heaven and Earth”, which transforms the sky over Ingolstadt into a sea of color on the second Friday evening and enchants visitors.
Family and senior citizens' afternoons: On certain days, there are special offers and reduced prices for families and senior citizens to make a visit to the festival attractive for all generations.
