The Lukasmarkt in Mayen is one of the largest folk festivals in Rhineland-Palatinate and attracts between 250,000 and 300,000 visitors every year. This traditional festival has a history dating back to 1405, when it was given its current name.
Krammarkt: Over nine days, more than 50 traders present a colorful selection of goods, including textiles, household items and spices.
Horse and cattle market: A fascinating show program with horses is offered all day long on the cattle market square. The only sheep market in Rhineland-Palatinate also takes place here.
Family day: On Thursday, families benefit from reduced prices for all attractions.
Fireworks: On the second Sunday of the market, visitors can enjoy a spectacular firework display, which is set off from the picturesque Genoveva Castle.
