History and development: The roots of the Dult go back a long way. Originally launched as a market event, over the years the event has developed into a lively folk festival that attracts not only Regensburgers but also numerous visitors from the entire region.
Attractions at the Maidult: amusement fair: Numerous rides provide fun for young and old - from nostalgic carousels to adrenaline-filled rollercoasters. Particularly popular are the bumper cars and the Ferris wheel, which offers a magnificent view over the city.
Warendult: Here you can find everything from useful household items to handmade products and traditional costumes.
Festival tents: In the beer tents, visitors can expect an exuberant atmosphere with daily live music and typical Bavarian specialties such as pretzels, chicken and bratwurst.
Special experiences:
Opening: The Maidult is traditionally opened by the Lord Mayor - a festive moment that usually begins with a barrel tapping.
Family day: Every Wednesday there are special offers for families, including reduced prices on the rides.
Fireworks: A special highlight is the firework display, which is set off both at the opening and closing of the festival and lights up the sky over Regensburg.
A mixture of tradition and modernity: The Maidult combines tradition, entertainment and culinary delights. It has long since become an integral part of cultural life in Regensburg and reflects the special Bavarian way of life.
Whether you enjoy the fairground rides, sample the Bavarian specialties or simply experience the convivial get-together in the festival tents - the Maidult offers something for everyone. Once you've been there, you'll quickly understand why this festival is the heart of the spring season for many Regensburgers.
