Whitsun Market in Worms

The Whitsun market in Worms is a fascinating event with a long history and many special features. It dates back to 1243, when Emperor Frederick II granted the city of Worms market rights. Originally, the market took place after Easter, but was moved to Whitsun in the 19th century.

Today, the Whitsun market combines a consumer fair with a folk festival and attracts around 80,000 visitors every year. Covering an area of 11,000 m², there is a trade exhibition with high-quality products such as furniture, household goods and food, as well as an outdoor area with leather goods, toys and vehicles. The fair offers rides, lotteries, shooting galleries and gastronomy.

The mixture of tradition and modernity is particularly noteworthy. There are special program items such as family days with reduced prices and vintage car meetings. Admission is free and the event takes place directly on the Rhine at the Kisselswiese fairground.
