On June 11, Ukraine officially celebrates the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This holiday was established by a Presidential decree as recognition of the outstanding role played by Ukrainian drone operators and developers in modern warfare.
The decree introduces a new military tradition and emphasizes the importance of unmanned technologies in the struggle for freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of the state.
On June 10, 2026, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 485/2026, which stipulates:
To establish the annual celebration of the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on June 11.
The decree enters into force upon its official publication.
Thus, starting in 2026, Ukraine gained a new state holiday that reflects the strategic role of unmanned systems in the country’s defense.
International Context
In addition to this important national holiday, there is also the International Drone Day, traditionally celebrated on the first Saturday of May. It brings together enthusiasts, pilots, and drone developers worldwide, showcasing peaceful and innovative applications of unmanned technologies.

The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, like all other branches of the Armed Forces, tirelessly work to repel aggression from Russian terrorist formations, bringing closer the long-awaited and truly peaceful days for the entire Ukrainian community.
