Teacher's Day in Hungary is held on June 7. Celebrated on the first Sunday in June. This event in the first decade of the month June is annual.

In 1951 a regulation was made by the Council of Ministers in which they declared the first Sunday of June to be the day, when appreciation is shown towards teachers. It was celebrated for the very first time in 1952 when all the prominent teachers has been awarded for their achievements. It is the day when students give expression to their gratitude for all the effort that their teachers made during the whole school year. These ceremonies used to be one of the most important national celebrations.
