The Day of the Hungarian Inventors was established in honor of Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, who on this day in 1941 registered his national patent for the synthesized vitamin C. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi also received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1937.
The Hungarian Inventors' Association (MAFE) has been celebrating since 2009.
