1941 June 14 The Soviet Union began mass deportations of the population to Siberia. In total, about 18,500 people were deported, most of them to exile and others to GULAG camps. Many politicians and other public figures of that time were deported, including the second President of the Republic of Lithuania, Aleksandras Stulginskis.
