King Jigme Khesar is the fifth in a line of hereditary rulers who have reigned in Bhutan for the last 100 years. Khesar was born 21 February 1980 at Kathmandu. He is the eldest son of the fourth Dragon King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and his third wife, Queen Ashi Tshering Yangdon.
