Buenos Aires Writer's Day

To the date of May 13 - which was already in force in memory of the birth (in 1854) of the poet Alfredo Bonifacio Palacios (better known as Almafuerte)- the province added at the end of 2011 the date of May 5, in memory of the kidnapping and disappearance of Haroldo Pedro Conti by the dictatorship in 1976.

Haroldo Conti was of that temperament that animates the verses. It is said that at the time of the kidnapping, on his desk there was, among other things, a typewriter and some papers. In one of them he had written, in Latin: "This is my place of combat and I will not be moved from here".
