Geologist's Day in Uruguay

Geology is a bachelor's degree that is taught in the Faculty of Sciences and was created in 1978. The main objective of the career is to train researchers who are able to solve certain geological problems according to what geology is, which is the study of the composition, structure, dynamics and history of our planet. This includes what is linked to natural resources, minerals, energy or the search for water.

The training given by the career tries to cover disciplines that allow the professional to be able to face and solve or face situations that have to do with some of these aspects that make geology. According to the 2018 survey, almost 80% of geologists work in something related to their studies, 10% work unrelated and 12% are not active (retired, other).
