Arbor Day in Paraguay

By carrying out environmental protection activities, we are helping locally to combat the effects of climate change. The day of Arbor Day is an appropriate occasion to remember that in all international forums there is more and more talk about the importance of trees in the conservation of forests and life on the planet. This date is an opportunity to become aware and start acting in favor of these living beings.

Arbor Day has been celebrated in Paraguay since 1904. Initially it was commemorated on July 14 as a proposal of Moisés Bertoni; Swiss naturalist, botanist and anarchist writer. He is considered one of the most extraordinary immigrants that have arrived in Paraguayan lands. However, in 1954 the Ministry of Education changed the date to the current one, that is to say, to June 19.
