Special Education is the modality of the Educational System aimed at ensuring the right to education of people with temporary or permanent disabilities at all levels and modalities of the System.
Today, Argentina commemorates the "National Day of Special Education", a day dedicated to teachers who assist students with disabilities. The choice of the date derives from the anniversary of the creation of the Special Education Department, which took place on August 9, 1949.
The Special Education modality, established in the National Education Law in 2006, aims to ensure the right to education at all levels and modalities to people with disabilities, by guaranteeing them a set of services in special and regular schools, from early childhood to adulthood.
