Every August 10, the district of Matara (Cajamarca) celebrates the Festivity in honor of San Lorenzo, who is considered the patron saint of the place, with a series of religious, social and artistic activities, including bullfights.
During the festive day, the town is full of visitors, who enjoy the fireworks on the night of vespers, sports tournaments, contests of folkloric dances, gastronomic fairs, popular festivities and bullfighting evenings.
