The Fair and Festivities in honor of St. Bartholomew are held in Spain annually between 24 and 31 August.
Both the roots, as well as the identity and color of this festive event, place it among the most important and popular in the Region of Murcia. In the Fair and Festivities of Cieza stand out for its spectacularity the "Fireworks Castle" on the banks of the Segura River, the "Bullfights", the fun contest of the "Crazy Cars" or the internationally known "Launching of olive pits without canute".
The incomparable Recinto Ferial, located in the Plaza de España, is the setting for the open-air dances and other days of this festival, which has a full program of cultural, musical and sporting events.
While the festivities in honor of St. Bartholomew have their roots in the sixteenth century, the origin of the Fair dates back to 1801, when a royal edict allowed its establishment in the city.
