Teacher's Day in Uruguay

This date is a commemorative day for teachers who perform an important work in education in that country, besides guiding in the first steps of learning and providing different tools that allow rebuilding their own path for a better future of the Uruguayan society.

It is significant that - being in such early stages of people's lives, and memory being selective - the images and names of our teachers remain marked as an indelible imprint that accompanies our entire existential itinerary.

What does constitute an Uruguayan singularity, one of our most characteristic and beautiful peculiarities, is the vertebral character that our teaching profession occupies in the conformation and integration of the country itself and in the definition of its identity.
