The event is in memory of the first astronomical observatory in country, which is none other than the one inaugurated in Cordoba in 1871 and which gave its name to the neighborhood where it is still located today.
The foundation of this space took place during the presidency of Domingo F. Sarmiento and its development throughout history resulted in great contributions to science. To date, years after its creation, the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba is one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific entities in the country.
