Graphic Designer's Day in Argentina

Graphic design is a profession whose activity consists of designing visual communications aimed at transmitting specific messages to social groups, with specific objectives. This activity helps to optimize graphic communications.

The international celebration is on April 27, and recalls when the International Council of Graphic Design Associations was established in London in 1966.

Every October 24, in Argentina, the Graphic Designer's Day is celebrated. This date was established in memory of the first designer graduated from a university in the country, Haydeé Strimatter, who graduated from the National University of Cuyo in 1966. Until then, graphic design consisted of a trade and was not a professional activity.

For a world that is becoming more and more avid for images and messages of artistic quality, the work of a graphic designer is of vital importance. Its usefulness lies not only in "beautifying" the poster, but it is a fundamental ally of the communicator to express an idea in the best possible way.
