Florida Province is a province of Bolivia, located in the west of the department of Santa Cruz.
The province was created by separating it from Vallegrande Province on December 15, 1924 by a law enacted during the presidency of Dr. Bautista Saavedra. The province takes its name from the Battle of La Florida, which took place in the neighboring province of Cordillera on May 25, 1814 and culminated with the victory of the independence forces. Its provincial capital is the city of Samaipata. The province of Florida has a population of approximately 30,000 people.
