Right at the start, the Heppingen pretzel festival is celebrated on the Landskrone and at the finish, the barbecue organized by the Remagener Verschönerungsverein attracts visitors.

The pretzel festival, which is unique in the Rhine-Ahr region, is celebrated every year from Whit Saturday to Whit Monday on the Landskrone above Heppingen. It is organized by the Gemeinschaft der Ortsvereine Heppingen e.V.. The festival dates back to the time when pilgrims were fed on the mountain in the Middle Ages. Today, the festival begins on the afternoon of Whit Saturday. On Whit Monday, a church service is held at the Maria-Hilf chapel (Landskrone) below the castle ruins with a pretzel blessing.
