The Dresden City Festival starts on Friday. It is the biggest celebration in the state capital. If you want to use the S-Bahn, you don't have to worry about getting home early.

Over 1000 artists from the worlds of music, show and theater perform on up to ten stages every year against this unique backdrop of Elbflorenz. The largest city festival in Germany attracts visitors to the party mile between the hip new town and baroque old town with a diverse range of parties, culture, sport and gastronomy, as well as family activities.

For three days, Dresden's Neumarkt will be all about wine, Chiaverigasse will be Caribbean and the Middle Ages will return to the Königsufer. The steamer festival will also attract lots of visitors.
