Rengesfest in Schmelz

The Rengesfest of the St. Barbara Brotherhood is a traditional festival that takes place on the Renges in Schmelz. It is organized by the brotherhood and provides an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate. The festival takes place on the parking areas and sunbathing lawns of the Schmelzer Heidebad.

The Rengesfest of the St. Barbara Brotherhood takes place in August to honor the feast of the patron saint St. Barbara. St. Barbara is the patron saint of miners, firefighters and other professional groups. Traditionally, her feast day is celebrated on December 4. However, as the Rengesfest is an outdoor event, it is held in the warmer month of August to ensure pleasant weather conditions. It is a time of togetherness, community and celebration for the people of Schmelz.
