Schmelz is located in the northern Saarland mountain and hill country (200 to 430 m above sea level) on the Prims river. It is the most populous municipality in northern Saarland (16,481 inhabitants as of Jan. 14, 2022).
The funfair in Schmelz-Bettingen offers entertainment for young and old - from carousels and rides to food stalls and candy stands. As this is another opportunity to exchange ideas and plan further activities, we hope for a large turnout. The fairground will feature a large bumper car and many other children's rides and stalls.
The Bettinger Kirmes always takes place on the first weekend in August.
