A lively spirit of innovation, musical dynamism and fascinating venues characterize the unique atmosphere of the Moritzburg Festival. Founded in 1993 by Kai Vogler, Peter Bruns and Jan Vogler in the style of the famous "Marlboro Festival" (USA), the Moritzburg Festival sees itself as both an experimental laboratory and a place of excellence. However, excellent musicality must also be secured for the future. Promoting young talent is therefore an important concern of the Moritzburg Festival.
