Bartlmädult Landshut

The Bartlmädult is a traditional folk festival in the Lower Bavarian town of Landshut. It takes place annually in late summer and is one of the oldest and largest folk festivals in Bavaria. The roots of the festival go back to the founding of the Freyung district of Landshut in 1338. Over the course of time, the Bartlmädult changed its location several times before establishing itself on the Grieserwiese.

The Bartlmädult usually begins on Friday and lasts ten days. Parade on the first Sunday of the festival: The colorful parade with floats, bands and traditional costume groups is a highlight of the Bartlmädult.

The amusement park offers rides and stalls for young and old. You can enjoy Bavarian delicacies, beer and music in the numerous festival tents. In addition to the festival tents and the amusement park, there is a varied supporting program with concerts, theater performances and sporting events.

Today, the Bartlmädult is an integral part of cultural life in Landshut and the region. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far every year.
