The European day of the Righteous is celebrated every year on 6 March is a celebration established on 10 May 2012 (with 388 signatures) by the European Parliament to commemorate those who have stood up against crimes against humanity and totalitarism with their own moral responsibility. The term "righteous" is in this case understood in a broader meaning, not limited only to those who risked their lives helping Jews during the Holocaust.
