Today, June 24, Venezuelans celebrate the last battle on Venezuelan soil, in which they invite the heroic people to reconnect with their brilliant past, to arrange to meet that sublime moment when all sacrifices were made, all wills were united, and they all marched as members of the Republic, in civil and military alliance.
The Battle of Carabobo was one of the main military actions of the Venezuelan War of Independence within the framework of the Spanish-American Wars of Independence, which took place in the Carabobo Field on June 24, 1821, by the revolutionary army against the Spanish royal army. The victory achieved by the latter was decisive for the liberation of Caracas and the Venezuelan territory, a fact that was definitively achieved in 1823 with the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo and the capture of the fortresses of Puerto Cabello.
