Father's Day in Haiti

Father's Day in Haiti is held on June 28. Fête des peres is celebrated on the last Sunday of June. This event in the third decade of the month June is annual.

Father's Day is an annual holiday celebrated in honor of fathers in many countries. On this occasion, children give gifts to their fathers, such as cakes, flowers or items they have made at school or at home. This holiday is also celebrated by adults of all ages to honor their fathers.

The day that honors Haitian fathers (the last Sunday in June) is not as popular in Haiti as Mother's Day (the last Sunday in May).

Father's Day originated in the 15th century. It was then a religious feast, whose date was set on March 19, six days before the Annunciation, by the Catholic calendar. This day was not intended to celebrate fathers, but to celebrate the figure of Joseph, the foster father of Jesus.
