Creativity is more likely to peak during your “off” hours. “Psychological distance” facilitates creativity. Sleep is beneficial for creative thought. Daydreaming. Horsing around. Aimless wandering. A sudden, traumatic loss. So many things that seem to conjure an automatic, negative connotation can actually have an interesting–indeed, often positive–impact on our creativity. Perception is the first step to nurturing the creative spark.
