November 9th is one of the most noteworthy dates in German history. It is widely known that the Berlin Wall came down on November 9th, 1989. But the "Day of Fate" is a date on which several momentous events in German history have happened. On this day in 1848, Robert Blum was assassinated in Vienna due to his revolutionary efforts to democratize Germany. In 1918, Philipp Scheidemann proclaimed the Weimar Republic. Hitler attemped his Bierkellerputsch (Beer Hall putsch/coup) in Munich on November 8-9, 1923.
