In the early hours of September 16, 1810, the "Cry of Independence" was recorded, attributed to the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in the town of Dolores, located in the Guanajuato administration, today Dolores Hidalgo, Gto., with this action gave start of the independence movement.
The main objective of this movement (armed and social) was to liberate territory from the Spanish yoke and that, in every corner of the Colony, the concept of viceroyalty would be completely forgotten.
