World Animal Day was established on October 4, 1931. This is a great opportunity for all animal lovers to remember their favorite pets as well as wild animals. On October 27, 2006, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland passed a resolution on the establishment of the Animal Day.
Klub Gaja, thanks to its 2-year campaign, led to the signing of the Animal Protection Act in 1997, which included a provision saying that "an animal is not a thing" and established May 22 as Animal Rights Day to commemorate the introduction of this of the legal act into force.
