A stack of two or more patties follows the same basic pattern as hamburgers: with two patties will be called a double cheeseburger; a triple cheeseburger has three, and while much less common, a quadruple has four. The first person who is said to have created the cheeseburger was Lionel Sternberger in Pasadena, California. The story goes that Lionel created it while working at his father's sandwich shop in 1926 when he was only 16 years old.
The origin of Creme de menthe is attributed to pharmacist Emile Giffard, while researching the digestive effects of mint. Creme de menthe is an ingredient in several cocktails, such as the Grasshopper and the Stinger. Creme de menthe is traditionally served in a small tube shaped glass.
Linguini are flat, like fettuccine and trenette, but narrow like spaghetti. The name means "little tongues" in Italian - the word being derived from Latin lingua "tongue" with the suffix -ine which indicates that an item is smaller or lesser. Linguine alle vongole (with clams) is a popular use of this sort of pasta.
