National Rescue Dog Day in US

Search and rescue dogs are awesome because when disaster strikes, they don’t hesitate to risk their lives for the sake of others. Special training makes search and rescue dogs valuable assets in rescue efforts such as wilderness tracking and locating missing people resulting in thousands of human lives being saved every year. These adorable heroes deserve some attention and we’re going to give it to them.

National Rescue Dog Day was founded by Lisa Wiehebrink, who rescued her dog Cooper in 2009 and went on to create the Tails That Teach book series, which teaches children how to be kind and gentle with their pets.
