In 1994, Justin Hall, a Swarthmore College undergraduate, created links.net and began using it as a diary. He pioneered the practice of documenting thoughts and sharing personal insights online, so he’s often credited with being the world’s first blogger.
By the start of 2020, most blog articles ranged in between 1,231 – 1,351 words.
To date, there are more than 500 million blogs out of 1.7 billion websites in the world. Their authors account for over 2 million blog posts daily. In the last 5 years, the average time for writing a post has steadily grown from 2:24 hours to 3:28 hours.
