This special date aims to highlight the ingenuity, the outstanding work and his ability to speak, among other qualities, which are intended to sell the products they offer. Every April 29 is celebrated throughout Peru, the Day of the Seller, which recognizes the work of sellers, highlighting their ingenuity, perseverance and personality, to offer their products and face adversity, and get ahead for themselves and their families.
The Peruvian Vendor's Day was born in 1977 when the Central Market of Downtown Lima was more visited by people outside than inside. Because of this, the mayor of that time, Alberto Andrade Carmona, evicted all the street vendors and reorganized the trade in the area which brought positive effects for all vendors. As a result of the results, what Andrade Carmona did was imitated in other districts of the city and also in other provinces of the country.
However, what the mayor did did not eliminate the profession of vendor; on the contrary, he reinvented it. For this reason, the constant search for the "occasion" to move the business forward. Thus, this day and with the passing of the years, the Day of the Salesman in Peru began to be celebrated every April 29th, to highlight their work but also to remember that the profession of selling is considered in our country as a dignified occupation.
