Kinesiologist's Day in Chile

Kinesiologists are a great support for the medical area and for all Chilean citizens. In fact, these professionals are considered fundamental pillars in several processes of recovery and improvement of the quality of life of patients.

In Chile, the day of the Kinesiologist is celebrated on May 6, the day that commemorates the publication of the Professional Associations Law of 1969. The purpose of this event is to honor and recognize the incredible work done by these health professionals for the benefit of Chilean society.

On December 30, 1952, the Association of Kinesiologists of the University of Chile obtained legal personality. Thus, it officially became part of Chilean union life.

Some years before, specifically on July 2, 1947, decree 859 was promulgated, which changed the denomination of "Kinesitherapy Technician", for the title of "Kinesiologist" in the country. With this decree, the annual courses of specialization in Kinesitherapy were created at the Institute of Physical and Technical Education of the University of Chile. In order to access to it, it was necessary to have the title of Professor of Physical Education.
