World Parrot Day is celebrated on May 31, a date promoted by the World Parrot Trust in 2004 with the aim of learning more about this fantastic bird and to protect wild and captive parrots from the threats that threaten them. This day also seeks to draw attention to the conservation of these species as at least one third of them are threatened due to habitat loss and illegal trade.
World Parrot Trust works for the conservation of parrots, rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing wild birds that have been trapped in the illegal trade.
