It is a commemorative day dedicated to the noble profession of law, "ad vocatus", which in Latin means: to call, to advocate, that is, in Rome distinguished the person who had the enormous wealth of knowledge and as such, could defend another person in court or before the senate.
October 13 was chosen in honor of the founding of the First Faculty of Law at the Universidad Mayor de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, in 1681.
