November 19 was established internationally as a day of struggle that seeks to make visible a reality that affects children and adolescents around the world on a daily basis.
It was instituted in 2000 by the Women's World Summit Foundation (WWSF), in consultative status with the United Nations, to promote the fight against pedophilia and the exploitation of children and adolescents, helping to generate effective protection through the dissemination and adoption of concrete and systematic actions.
In all age groups, the highest percentage of children and adolescents victims of sexual violence belongs to the female gender, representing almost 4 times more than the male gender. In the case of the male gender, the highest percentage of children and adolescents is concentrated in the age range of 12 to 17 years.
