The coca plant is a symbol and identity of the Andean peoples and the "acullico" of its leaves is part of the ritual, through which the population ingests its nutrients and medicinal qualities.
The Plurinational State of Bolivia celebrates January 11 as National Acullico Day since the enactment of Law 864, in 2016, which consists of chewing the coca leaf in its natural state and is an expression of an ancestral tradition.
