Dixieland Parade

The finale of the Dresden International Dixieland Festival is the Dixieland Parade through the city center, followed by a closing session. Many program items, such as the Dixieland parade, are free of charge.

The Dixieland parade starts with an impressive spectacle on the Terrassenufer along the Elbe and leads through the historic city center. The friends of old-time jazz in Dresden emphasize the city's reputation as the "capital of Dixieland". Various jazz bands from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland are part of the parade.
