The GRASSIMESSE in Leipzig is an international meeting place for design enthusiasts and lovers of beautiful things. It combines an art exhibition and sales fair and traditionally takes place on the last weekend in October at the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts.
The fair was founded in the 1920s by Richard Graul, then director of the Museum of Decorative Arts. It became known as the "meeting place of modernism" and insists on high quality in contrast to the mass products of other fairs.
Unique items, small series and exemplary industrial products from the fields of textiles, fashion, jewelry, ceramics, glass, furniture, metal, leather, paper and toys, among others, are offered. The exhibitors are selected each year by a jury according to the highest quality standards.
