The Simon Judah Market has a long tradition and dates back to 1322. At that time, the town of Euskirchen was granted the right to hold a fair by the sovereign Reinald I. The market was originally held on the day of St. Simon and St. Jude, hence the name.
Traditional funfair atmosphere: The Simon and Judas market offers a mixture of fast-paced rides, typical folk festival specialties and stalls that invite you to stroll and linger.
Largest inner-city funfair on the left bank of the Rhine: With over 160 fairground exhibitors and stalls, the Simon Judah Market attracts several hundred thousand visitors every year.
Carnival sessions, concerts and other events take place in the marquee on Charleviller Platz. On Friday evening, a large fireworks display takes place over the city center.
