The Cologne Autumn Folk Festival is an annual highlight that takes place on the banks of the Rhine in Deutz, Cologne. It traditionally begins on the last Friday in October and is organized by the Cologne Showmen's Association (GKS). With numerous attractions and rides, the festival attracts many visitors every year.
The Autumn Folk Festival stretches along the Rhine between Deutzer Brücke and Severinsbrücke. Thanks to its long tradition, it is an integral part of Cologne's calendar of events. Around 600,000 visitors are expected every year.
Highlights include exciting rides such as the “Wild Mouse” rollercoaster, the “Musikexpress” and the impressive “Europarad” Ferris wheel. Thursday is particularly interesting for families, when there are reduced prices for rides.
Another highlight is the spectacular fireworks display that lights up the sky over the Rhine on Friday evening at around 9:30 pm.
