Liberation Day iin Denmark is held on May 5. This was the day that the German forces surrendered in Denmark under World War II. This event in the first decade of the month May is annual.

The message about the Danish liberation went out on 4 May, but the official liberation day is 5 May. It is celebrated with flags in flagpoles and on top of the busses. On the day, public ceremonies are held in memory of the fallen members of the Danish resistance movement. Left-wing organizations sometimes hold demonstrations to remember the communist resistance fighters.
