In November 2015, UNESCO Member States proclaimed African World Heritage Day in order to raise global awareness of African heritage and to seek greater cooperation for its safeguarding. Its main objective is to make known to all the people of the planet, but in particular, to the African people, the valuable cultural and natural heritage of this great continent.
The African continent is characterized by being a very vast place, inhabited by more than 1.2 billion people, the vast majority of whom are very young.
It is the continent that is home to the largest poor population in the world and is also home to the largest refugee camp, in the city of Dadaab in Kenya, where there are approximately 250,000 people.
Also in this continent inhabit the largest and wildest animals on the planet such as the lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo, but not only that, we can also find the Sahara desert, considered the largest in the world.
In Africa you can find great natural monuments, which have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, making it a continent of great beauty, which has begun to capture the interest of thousands of tourists around the world.
