10 July - Chökhor Düchen or Festival of the Turning of the Wheel of Dharma
Chökhor Düchen (Festival of Turning the Wheel of Dharma), one of the four most important holidays (Tib. Düchen) in Tibetan Buddhism. According to the Tibetan lunar calendar, this is the fourth day of the sixth month. Buddhists all over the world dedicate this holiday with joy and gratitude to the beginning of the Buddha's teaching activity. For seven weeks after his enlightenment, the Buddha did not teach. Finally, encouraged by Indra and Brahma, he turned the wheel of Dharma for the first time in Sarnath by teaching the "Four Noble Truths".
But it is also a day of community and an opportunity for all Buddhists to honor their common origin and the community and friendship that has grown from it.
