In many Slavic traditions Archistratigus Michael's Day was associated with the beginning of winter. St. Michael's Day is a day in the Slavic folk calendar, Orthodox Slavs celebrate November 8 (21), while Slavic Catholics celebrate St. Michael's Day on September 29. In Sweden, St. Michael's Day is known as Mickelsmäss. The Orthodox Church honors the memory of St. Michael on October 13. The name of the day comes from the name of the Archangel Michael.
Church of the Wonder of the Archistratigus Michael (Yaremche, Kamyanka St. 32 in Ukraine) is considered to be the national monument of architecture.
