Deputy Raul Latorre (ANR-Capital) introduced a bill "Establishing October 28 as National Radio Day in Paraguay" in homage to ZP9 Radio Prieto, in recognition of the invaluable role it played during the Chaco War (1932-1935).
For the first time in Paraguayan history, October 28 was celebrated as National Radio Day in 2022, according to Law 6997, passed by the executive branch after approval by both houses of the National Congress. This celebration is a fair recognition of the role played in the Chaco war by Radio ZP9, owned by brothers Daniel, Fernando and Policarpo Artaza, which was a motivating voice for the people to stand up for their threatened territorial integrity.
